Greenland
Greenland is developing a newer industry – tourism.Whale-watching tours are offered in several
towns inGreenland.There aremany different species of whales inGreenlandic waters, including the
two largest, the bluewhale and the finwhale.You can also see seals, walruses, and polar bears float-
ing on the ice.
Dog-sled tours are offered by the local tourist offices and last from just a few hours to several
weeks. On one of these tours, you could see furry musk oxen, Arctic foxes, and hares. Reindeer live
all over the ice-freepartsofGreenland, and you couldbe luckyand seeaherd.Clothesaremade from
reindeer hide because it is very warm.
The kayak was originally developed by hunters inGreenland. Today, kayaking is a popular sport.
The fiords, straits, and archipelagos
