Even though theBritish IslesRegion is a small geographical area, therearea variety of landforms.
There are rugged highlands inWales, Northern England, and Scotland. Flat marshlands and rolling
green countryside dominate southeastern and southern England. The island of Ireland also has
rugged terrain in thenorth facingScotland’s coastline.But Ireland ismost known for its beautiful green
landscapeswhich have earned it the nickname of “TheEmerald Isle.”
